Lessons from a First Ultramarathon DNF
Recently I set out to run the Pitchell Challenge in my backyard mountains in North Carolina. This 67-mile right-of-passage was supposed to take me from Mount Pisgah to Mount Mitchell, but by the time I reached the halfway point, I was through.
My first DNF.
So, after a little while to reflect on that experience, Matt and I talk about the challenges I faced in the mountains in this episode of No Meat Athlete Radio.
We talk about what went wrong and how I plan to approach the challenge next time — because of course there’s going to be a next time.
