Asparagus

  • The fibrous ends should be trimmed from asparagus before cooking.  To quickly remove them from a bunch, choose an average-looking stalk, hold it with one end in each hand, and bend until it snaps.  Line the stalk up with the rest of the bunch and trim the rest at the same point.
